AWG-7000 Waveform Generator : 20 GSa/s – 14 bit – 5V output

Active Technologies is pleased to present AWG-7000, the world’s fastest 14 bit Arbitrary Waveform Generator. The new AWG-7000 Arbitrary Waveform Generator can reach 20 GSa/s real time update rate with 14 bit vertical resolution on 4 fully independent channels. This product complete Active Technologies  Arbitrary Waveform Generator product portfolio in combination with AWG-2000 and AWG-4000 and AWG-5000 families.

The output signal can reach a maximum amplitude of 5Vpp on 50 ohm with 50 ps rise time and the instrument can be used also as fast pulse generator. The large memory up to 9 Gpoints allows the user to create long custom patterns without any limitation.

More information and detailed datasheet are available on AWG-7000 product page.

Digital Delay Generator

Pulse Generator as Digital Delay Generator

Typically a Digital Delay Generator is used in different type of Physics experiments to control distributed acquisition systems. Digital Delay Generators are characterized by several parameters including the resolution, the accuracy and the speed of edges (rise time). In particular the rise and fall time of edges impact the accuracy and the stability of the whole experiment. The transition time (edge) should be ideally zero and slow rise time could impact the capability of the trigger circuit to interact the the proper manner with the system as well explained in this article of University of Washington,

In order to avoid this problem the Pulse and Digital Delay Generators developed by Active Technologies are capable to deliver rise time faster than 70ps as shown in the following picture:

All Active Technologies Fast Rise Time Pulse Generators can also be used also as Digital Delay Generators.

4 Channel Waveform Generator

Active Technologies offers different models of 4 channel waveform generators into the AWG-2000 and AWG-4000 and AWG-5000 families.

4 channel waveform generator are used in different type of application, starting from automotive industries up to advance research. Additional information about how a 4 channel waveform generator works can be found here.

AWG-2000 is the entry level solution with 2 and 4 channel waveform generator models:

4 channel waveform generator

The output signal can reach a maximum amplitude of 12Vpp on 50 ohm and the instrument can be used also as fast pulse and delay generator.

In case the application needs a higher output frequency, the AWG-4000 family can be the solution offering 2 and 4 channel waveform generator as well as the higher performance model 8 channel waveform generator.

8 channel waveform generator

The output signal can reach a maximum amplitude of 24Vpp on high impedance and thanks to the hardware offset control, it is possible shift the output signal from 0 to 24V down to 0 to -24V, for a total output voltage window of 48V.

By this system it’s possible generate up to 32 fully synchronized pulses, with a maximum amplitude of 24V and a minimum width of 3 ns.

The powerful sequencer with advanced conditional jumps, allows the user to create complex  scenario and build test sequences for automated test benches.

If 300 MHz bandwidth 4 channel waveform generator is not enough, the AWG-5000 family can address the highest performance request offering a bandwidth up to 6 GHz

4 channel waveform generator

Also in this case, beside the 4 channel waveform generator we find  2 channel waveform generator and a 8 channel waveform generator as well. The unique feature of 5Vpp output with 110ps rise time makes the AWG-5000 series the most powerful pulse and delay generator on the market.

Active Technologies products are fully supported by a worldwide network of distributors.
